Women of Toledo to celebrate International Women’s Day March 10

International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global celebration of women’s social, economic, cultural and political achievements. It is also a call to action to accelerate gender parity.

In recognition of the day, Women of Toledo (WOT) will host its IWD luncheon on Monday, March 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Renaissance downtown Toledo.

This year’s theme, “Accelerate Action: Support the Supporters,” highlights the importance of collaboration in advancing gender equality. By uplifting those who create networks, resources and strategies that empower women, there can be meaningful progress toward equity.

The event will feature a panel of women leaders who have successfully built and scaled collaborative networks that create lasting impact:

• Gracie Xavier (Haiti) – A social enterprise leader with Global Detroit, Xavier has been instrumental in advancing the Welcoming City certification from Welcoming America, ensuring cities foster inclusion and economic growth for all. Attendees also will learn about Welcoming Interactive 2025, which will take place in Detroit this year.

• Athena Golianis (Greece)–Founder and creator of PINKK NOW LLC, a mission-driven organization dedicated to empowering businesses through strategic marketing, branding and entrepreneurship support.

• Nicky Sulandari (Indonesia)– Founder of the Collaborative Chambers Alliance, a groundbreaking initiative uniting 22 chambers of commerce under one umbrella to strengthen economic development and workforce opportunities in Cuyahoga County.

The event will conclude with a musical performance by Amy Chang, a featured cellist from the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, who will perform pieces from the Far East.

WOT is a nonprofit organization serving the greater Toledo area.
