Springfield High School News

Pretty Fitting

There is little question that most reading this message will agree that the last year has, at times, felt like a three-ring circus. We’ve all struggled to keep all the plates spinning, have juggled a lot, and felt like we were in situations without a net below our feet. So, when Springfield High School Prom Advisors McKenna Reitz and Katie Crago approached me with their idea to create for our juniors and seniors “A Night Under the Big Top,” I thought to myself, “How appropriate!” Then, I said, “Sure, why not!”

I am sure you’ve also seen me on the news talking about why we feel it is important to create an opportunity for our students to create positive memories—Kristina White, community liaison, has a way of wearing me down and getting me to agree to go on camera. This event promises to be one of the most creative, energetic and just plain fun things that I will probably witness at SHS. There are so many people making this night come together—and I can’t say enough for the creativity of our advisors, academic boosters and SHS team. They have been tireless in securing enough sponsors, donations, partners and volunteers to pull this off—and I have no doubt that they will do just that.

If you want to be a part of this—through your donation of time, talents or treasures, send academic booster’s president Cheri Casper an email at chericasper@springfieldschools.org.
