Mrs. Tolliver’s Counselor Corner
We have two special features for April’s character trait of the month—honesty and trustworthy. They just go together, so we are celebrating them as one. At Holloway and throughout our days, we are using honesty and trustworthy to define being truthful in what we say and do. Examples of this are: doing what’s right regardless of who’s around; doing what you say you will do; not deceiving others, cheating or stealing, and always having the courage to do what is right.
Ways to encourage honesty/trustworthiness at home:
1. Model honesty for your child—not only in your words, but also your lifestyle.
2. Explain to your child that telling the truth is both important and brave.
3. Reinforce truth-telling with encouragement.
4. Set clear expectations. As we finish out the rest
As we finish out the rest of the school year, the staff is continuing to create a positive atmosphere at Holloway. We are working hard at encouraging, uplifting and creating relationships with the students. I am so proud of how well our students are adjusting, despite the many obstacles they’ve endured this school year.
