Crissey Parents’ Club Musical Artist of the Month
This year in music class, students will have an opportunity to learn about different musicians throughout the school year as part of a yearlong unit called “Artist of the Month.”
The May artist of the month is the Grammy-winning rock band OK Go. They are known for their creative and elaborate music videos. These music videos inspire creative inquiry in children and have provided lessons for just that on their educational website OK Go Sandbox (okgosandbox.org)
OK Go Sandbox is a collaboration between OK Go, the Playful Learning Lab and the University of St. Thomas. The project strives to bring people and new ideas together to foster creative learning. OK Go and their team use music, art, math, science and a ton of playful creativity to bring their videos to life.
I would like to thank our music teacher, Ms. Middleton, for sharing a variety of music and diverse group of musicians during her year long unit called “Artist of the Month.”
