A Couple of Things

It’s not just the start of Daylight Savings Time–I needed that extra hour of sleep last weekend. I’m sure that I am not alone in feeling like there aren’t enough hours in the day to be at all the places and events that make our lives so much richer. For the members of the Class of 2022 and their families, many of the activities that will happen in the coming months represent more “lasts”–the last game, concert, and yes, the last test. To make sure that everyone is aware and makes the most of these days, we prepared a summary–the link for which is found above. There’s a lot to read, so I will be short in this preamble and simply ask that all interested download the document and keep it handy.
If you lost the link, don’t worry, it’s also shared on the homepage of the SHS website.
DEVILSasOne Learning to Lead
On Thursday, April 21, (yes, we know that this is during spring break) a workshop will be offered for Springfield High School students in grades 9 to 11, interested in growing their leadership skills. As you know, DEVILSasOne is our school’s initiative (formerly Students In Action) that challenges students to discover how they can use their time and talents to make an impact at school, in their neighborhoods, community and beyond. A flyer and registration information is available through the DEVILS-as-One Google Classroom. Don’t worry, the students know how to find it, but space is limited, so tell students to register ASAP.
Thank You, Boosters
I wish there was an award–some more tangible way than these simple words, to convey to the members of every single booster organization how much their time, efforts and support mean to us.
I am sure our kids don’t say the words enough, but I need to. Thank you for your efforts to raise funds for student programs, activities, teachers and more. Thank you for the time you put into creating plans; thank you for working side-by-side with staff to complete those plans and all the projects associated with them; thank you for coming up with more ways to make fun and all the memories that happen at SHS.
Again, thank you. There isn’t a single person here who takes our boosters or volunteers for granted.
We don’t expect you to serve, but we appreciate that you do. One more time–thank you.
