Appreciation Week May 2 to 6

Ohio School Bus Driver Appreciation Day is Monday, May 2. Each day, hundreds of students rely on school buses to take them to and from school, athletic events and field trips. The Ohio Legislature designated the first Monday in May as School Bus Driver Appreciation Day. The purpose of this day is two-fold. It increases public awareness and recognition of the important role school bus drivers play in public safety of transporting children to and from school. The day also provides a unique opportunity to show our bus drivers how much we value and appreciate the hard work and dedication they show each day. We are very grateful for our dedicated bus drivers and would like to thank them for all of their patience, hard-work and dedication. Take advantage of the opportunity to show our bus drivers how much you appreciate them. That could be as simple as a smile and a wave as your child is getting on or off the school bus.

National Teacher Appreciation Day is Tuesday, May 3. We can’t overemphasize the gratitude we have for all those who teach and nurture the minds and lives of children. We are so proud and appreciative of our dynamic group of teachers at Crissey Elementary, who give of themselves every day to provide high quality education and a wonderful school experience for our students. I would like to thank all current and former teachers for their dedication in the field of education.

School Lunch Hero Day is Friday, May 6. The first Friday in May is dedicated to our personnel who work in the school cafeterias. The day was inspired by author, Jarrett Krosoczka. We would like to honor our food service personnel for all of their hard work in preparing healthy school lunches for our students at Crissey Elementary.
