Trustees issue one-time pay bonus to twp. employees

The Springfield Township trustees authorized a pay bonus for township employees.

Following an executive session at the June 6 meeting, the trustees approved the use of a portion of their American Rescue Plan Act funds to employees who worked throughout the pandemic, in some cases risking their own health and that of their families, to provide services to township residents, administrator Mike Hampton explained.

The bonuses are being awarded based on employment. The 64 full-time employees each will receive $3,000; 12 parttime employees, $1,500, and for nine contingent staff, $750.

“This is a one-time essential premium pay for their outstanding service,” Mr. Hampton said.
