Pink was the color of choice for the 135 women who attended Pink -the Power of Positivity at Sylvania Country Club on May 20. The partnership between Susan G. Komen NW Ohio and Ragazza featured remarks from Michelle Hills.
Nearly $15,000 was raised through ticket sales and raffles baskets put together by Beth Bowman.
This is the second Pink partnership with Komen for Jane Wurth, Ragazza owner, and the event has grown.
The luncheon was served with a summer view of the latest fashions from Ragazza.
Ms. Hills’ talk journaled her journey from breast cancer notification through the myriad of tests, surgeries and reconstruction. She told the audience, with sincerity, wit and hopefulness, about the highs and lows.
Chrys Peterson pulled the raffle winners and Gretchen Awad, executive director of Komen NW Ohio, presented bouquets to Ms. Hills and Ms. Wurth and thanked the guests for an uplifting event that is positivity with a purpose.
