SCHOOL NEWS

The Club’s Choice Fundraiser kicked off on Thursday, September 15. Students did not get the packets in time for the weekend, but should have them now. With that said, the fund-raiser will likely be extended from it’s original end date of September 29. In the meantime, students can begin selling online.

Any student who joins the clubhouse and sends 10 or more messages will receive their first Cosmic Trooper collectible, as well as be qualified for grand prize drawings for game consoles or $350 cash. Also, we can’t forget about any student who sells 18 or more items will receive the Hummer Limo Lunch.

Gamers of the Week

Each week our teams nominate one student as their “Gamer of the Week.” The category they are being selected for is adaptability. The following were last week’s Gamer of the Week.

Student Safety

I don’t believe this is any of our students, but Mr. Pendry, Mr. Brown and I wanted to share with parents to make them aware: There should never be a circumstance where students are crossing the railroad tracks on McCord. Please take the time to talk about safety protocols and remind them to use sidewalks. We’ve had multiple sightings of students choosing to cross the tracks and videotape the process.

Introducing the TutorSmart Program I want to pass along this amazing resource shared with our district. The Toledo Lucas County Library (including Holland Branch) have created a program called TutorSmart. This is a whole curriculum, with certified teachers present, etc. and it is being offered free of charge at all library locations. The Holland branch hosts the program Monday through Thursday, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
