Portrait of A Springfield Graduate–Communication
Each month Crissey Elementary recognizes students who have exemplified one of the traits of a portrait of a Springfield graduate. The character trait that students focused on for the month of October was communication. Throughout the month, the Crissey staff helped students understand the meaning of communication. At the end of the month, all classroom teachers nominated one student from their class whom they felt displayed qualities of this word.
These students were: Lexi H., Mrs. Hohlbein; Sam G., Mrs. Young; Mason R., Mrs. Gibson; Nolan E., Ms. Crawford; Eva P., Mrs. Brock; Amelia S., Mrs. Jaeck; Brynne W., Mrs. Shepherd; Karsyn T., Mrs. O’Hearn; Kennadi R., Mrs. Gwozdz; Emery B., Mrs. Carr; Daulton V., Ms. Lutterloh; Alyssa R., Mrs. Purdue; Ava S., Mrs. Zaper; Mave M., Mrs Renfer; Kaliyah W., Ms. Ames, and Nala B. and Harper N., Ms. Jen.
Lion in the Spotlight
Name: Julie Zaper.
Position: third grade teacher. Favorite subject in high school: reading. Hobbies: being outdoors (our lovely Metroparks), bike riding, being with family and friends, going to movies, reading. Favorite food: stir fry.
Favorite team: Green Bay Packers. I am originally from Wisconsin. My roommate had season tickets when we were in college. It is looking like it may be a long year for a Packer fan though.
