I suspect that these words will be uttered by hundreds of parents who, later this month, receive a communication from me titled the “Senior Event List.” I hear you, and I’m right there with you. Most are aware that the youngest member of the Brown family is set to join her Springfield High School Class of 2023 classmates in that trip across the Stranahan stage. Since it seems like just yesterday that I was eagerly anticipating my graduation from Springfield High School, it seems almost impossible that our daughter will be taking the final steps of her high school career. Seems–yep. The reality–yep, too.
So believe me, I know both sides of the planning and information needed to get through a graduation season.
The SHS team does, too, and we are hard at work making sure that all the details fall into place. Our current goal is to finish compiling the information and share the list in a couple of weeks. Even after our best efforts, though, we will need to include the caveat that the chance still exists for a date or two to be changed, a location shifted or another alteration required. If we’ve learned nothing else since 2020, everyone’s flexibility and understanding are both needed and appreciated.
Fingers crossed, together we’ll get through graduation 2023, and enjoy all the possibilities that are awaiting our students.
