TARTA’s Board of Trustees has approved several service changes for the spring, including the extension of fixed-route service to Spring Meadows Place shopping center in Holland.
Beginning Sunday, March 26, TARTA’s route 32 will travel to Spring Meadows, with other slight modifications to the route’s stops on Airport Highway. As route 32 expands, so does the coverage area for TARPS paratransit service. Customers living within three-quarters of a mile of Spring Meadows are now eligible for TARPS.
TARTA has also approved a new route, No. 33, with stops including TARTA’s transit hub, the University of Toledo’s College of Medical and Life Sciences and Walmart on Glendale Avenue.
Route 28 will no longer run beginning March 26. Much of this route will now be covered by route 33, and some portions are covered by other existing TARTA routes.
These changes are taking place as other service enhancements related to the TARTA Next redesign project begin, including the upcoming launch of the flex microtransit pilot program. Plans for the upcoming years include fixed-route service to Oregon and increased frequency of service on heavily-traveled routes.
