We are approaching the end of the second trimester and a very busy time of the year.
Students are working hard but some, especially seniors, may start to lose focus. As we anxiously await spring break, sunshine and spring sports, we hope parents will help us in our efforts to keep students focused on academics. Following are several important updates:
Upcoming Dates with Exams, No Students or Early Release Monday, February 20: No school–Presidents Day. Wednesday, March 1: Exams, first, second and fifth periods.
Thursday, March 2: Exams, third and fourth periods. Early release, with dismissal at 11:25 a.m. for Springfield High School.
Friday, March 3: Teacher records day–no students.
Monday, March 6: Teacher inservice–no students.
Scheduling Course Guide Students should begin scheduling with counselors this month. Students will be bringing home a selection sheet to choose courses that best fit their interest.

Spring Testing Windows Wednesday and Thursday, March 1 and 2: second trimester exams for ninth through 12th grades.
Tuesday through Thursday, March 14 to 16: State-funded ACT (online) for juniors.
April 10 through 28: English II end of course assessments for freshmen through seniors.
April 24 through May 12: math, science and social studies end of course assessments for freshmen through seniors. AP exams will be held for sophomores through seniors on the following dates–Monday, May 1: U.S. government and politics; Tuesday, May 2: psychology; Friday, May 5: U.S. history; Monday, May 8: calculus AB/BC; Wednesday, May 10: biology; Thursday, May 11: physics 1.
Class Ring Order Day
Friday, February 17, class ring order day for freshmen. This will be held during lunches in the cafeteria hallway.
Ordering packets were distributed at school. A $100 down payment gets your class ring started and ready for the class delivery. Payment plans are available.
Orders can be made inschool on class ring order day or online at jostens.com on or before order day.

Summer academic camps provide opportunities for students to connect to Bowling Green State University, all while expanding their knowledge, building life skills and exploring their interests.
