SCHOOL NEWS
Thank you to all the teachers and volunteers who helped with our movie on Friday, the 24th. More than 300 students attended this free event. Like many first time events, we learned a few things to tweak next time around, but we are happy our students get these opportunities.
This week is the final week before spring break, so we decided to partner with the middle school and have a spirit week.
Just a reminder that state testing begins after our break. If you are planning doctor appointments, then try to remember that the testing is in the mornings. Students returning to school after 7:45 will have to remain in the office until their class is finished testing.
A Message from Mr. G.
I want to believe that the warmer weather is finally beginning to show itself. This week we continued discussing our portrait of a graduate trait of leadership by discussing conflict resolution in fifth grade and making positive choices in fourth grade. Also, please do not forget to let us know if you or a family member would be interested in participating in our Vehicle Career Day in May. This event is sure to make the kids day.
Finally, I want to remind everyone to begin prepping students for spring testing by discussing healthy eating and sleeping habits, as well as positive ways to handle stress such as: deep breathing, meditation, stretching and positive self talk.
Vehicle Career Day May 23 Counselor Mr. G. is putting together a different type of career day, and it will take a lot of help from the community. The event will take place on Tuesday, May 23, but for planning purposes he needs responses by Friday, April 21.
This event does not have a rain date, but promises to be a terrific experience for our fourth and fifth grade students. Space is limited, so the earlier the response the better.
