Tree Toledo, now in its ninth year of operation to mitigate climate change by encouraging tree planting, will distribute free tree seedlings from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., on Saturday, May 13, at Ohlman’s Farm Market, 3901 Hill Avenue, Toledo.
Featured species for this distribution include white oak, red oak, red maple, sugar maple, sycamore, bald cypress, white pine, Norway spruce, paw paw, tulip poplar and black chokecherry.
There will be a limit of three trees per household, with some flexibility for special circumstances.
This is the organization’s first public distribution for 2023.
Volunteers have seen to the planting of 197,120 seedlings.
Ohlman’s market will offer specials on a variety of items that day as well as throughout the month. The market is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays.
