Advent Lutheran Center holding supply drive

A supply collection for the personal needs pantry at Advent Lutheran Center, 3941 North McCord Road, Sylvania, will be Friday, May 19, and Sunday, May 21.

The drive is a joint effort between Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio and Luther Home of Mercy, both members of the Lutheran Ministries of Mercy. Clients from Luther Home will be helping with the drive on Friday.

Items accepted include band-aids, body wash and bars of soap, deodorant, dish soap, facial tissues, shampoo and conditioner, shaving cream, disposable razors, laundry detergent and dryer sheets, paper towels, toilet paper, toothbrushes and toothpaste.

Hours are Friday, from 10 a.m. to noon, and Sunday, 1 to 4 p.m.

The personal needs pantry operates solely through the support and generosity of the community. Donations are accepted year-round.

The collection will take place in partnership with Dave White Chevrolet, Kay’s Table, Classic Café and the Church of Grace, which holds services each weekend at the Advent Center.

“The personal needs pantry not only provides people with basic essentials, but it is critical for the health and well-being of the individuals and families served,” said Amanda Esquivel, director of community habitation services at the center. “We are able to come together and make a difference for those in need.”
