Springfield Middle School News

This spring after Springfield Middle School students finished a unit on constructive and destructive geologic processes, Teams Aces and Velocity students had the opportunity to write a letter to a national park asking the ranger at each park about how weathering, erosion and deposition have affected their park. They also were encouraged to ask about fossils that may be found in the park, as well as any other questions they may have for the ranger.

The students and teacher, Chad Krukemeyer, got quite the response back. Some rangers actually sent handwritten letters to students as well as pamphlets and maps of the parks.

Students were excited to see that they had received a response back and were eager to share what was sent to them.
