Lutheran Social Services of Northwestern Ohio, 2149 Collingwood Boulevard, Toledo, is hosting its second annual Stock the Shelves drive-thru donation event from 9 to 11 a.m., Friday, August 18.
The first event held last fall raised more than 1,000 pounds of food and $6,000 towards the food pantry’s operations. However, demand in the pantry has quadrupled over the last two years, as LSS has served more than 22,000 meals in 2023 so far.
In addition to LSS’s employees and volunteers staffing the event, local dignitaries also will be volunteering their time and donating. Toledo Police Department Community Services officers will be on hand.
