A Springfield Schools student is among 16 Ohio high school students to be selected for the 2024-25 student safety advisory council.
Lily Sherman, above, was commended on her appointment by Superintendent Matt Geha and members of the school board at the June 18 meeting.
As a member of the council, Lily will encourage her peers to actively engage in maintaining a safe school environment and will advocate for students’ overall well-being.
“I’m really excited and looking forward to it,” she said.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine created the council several years ago. The group works with the Ohio School Safety Center to identify school safety concerns and develop innovative solutions to address them.
