Penta administration approves EZA with Amazon

Following suit with Rossford Schools, Penta Career Center entered into an enterprise zone agreement with Amazon which is planning to construct a 640,000-squarefoot building in Perrysburg Township and is seeking a 10-year property tax abatement.

The company agrees to pay the career center $46,000 per year over the course of the abatement. Rossford Schools, which approved the agreement at the board’s May meeting, will receive $641,600 per year of the abatement.

The amounts represent the tax dollars each district would have received without the abatement.

According to Kyle DeGiulio of Amazon, the company is looking at several locations, but the township site is a strong contender.

The Perrysburg Township trustees approved the abatement at the June 5 meeting.
