Arts Commission gives thousands to creatives in microgrant program

The Arts Commission of Greater Toledo has revealed the recipients of their accelerator microgrant program for cycle 1 of 2024. Local artists and creatives are awarded no more than $1,500 and their funds can go towards equipment, supplies, professional development and project support.

Artists with a residence or creative studio within 30 miles of downtown Toledo may be eligible for an award.

Grant recipients are mixed media artist Brenda Singletary, sound artist and composer Timothy Story, jazz singer Ellie Martin and literary artist Kelci Crawford.

Cycle 3 applications opened June 25 and close July 22.

The grants are made possible through support from the Chapman Family, Ohio Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, among other supporters.
