Turnpike commission reminds drivers to go slow through tolls

During the busy summer travel season and throughout the year, the Ohio Turnpike commission reminds motorists to stay safe by slowing down and following the posted 10 mph speed limit when driving through toll booth lanes.

As part of the turnpike’s new tolling system, all gates in the entrance lanes and dedicated E-ZPass exit lanes at the toll plazas were removed.

Drivers should slow down to 10 mph for the safety of all motorists and toll collectors.

In addition, all customers need to be cognizant of the overhead signage to ensure they are entering and exiting the appropriate toll booth lanes, and non-EZPass customers must stop to take a ticket or pay the toll.

For safety, never drive in reverse or back out of a toll booth lane.
