Roundabout training to be held in Sylvania

The Lucas County engineer’s office, in partnership with the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department and Toledo Driving Schools, is hosting its second roundabout training session from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday, July 22.

Sign-in and instruction will begin in the parking lot of Timberstone Junior High, 9000 West Sylvania Avenue.

The event has a limited number of spots available and requires participants to sign up before the event at lucas countyengineer.org/round abouttraining or call their office at 419-213-2855 to reserve a time slot.

The practice route should take around 20-25 minutes to complete and guests will be accompanied by an instructor with Toledo Driving Schools.

“We helped over a dozen drivers with last year’s event and it showed the community we are here to help those who truly want to learn how to drive them and not be afraid of them anymore,” said Michael Tatar, LCEO public information officer.

The course will take drivers through seven roundabouts with an instructor to guide them through the dosand-don’ts as well as the different scenarios they may encounter.

Members of the engineer’s offices as well as local law enforcement will be at the event to answer any questions, offer informational handouts to take home and help fill out a post-training survey to help improve future trainings.
