Powerschool and Schedules
School counselors have returned and wrapped up necessary adjustments to schedules. Students and parents are now able to access Powerschool. Assigned teams are typically set, although class order may switch. Elective classes may fluctuate as we balance numbers and review withdrawals and new enrollments. We remind everyone to review Powerschool every few days due to the possibilities mentioned.
August 12-15 SMS Open for Roaming 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
We encourage parents and students to visit Springfield Middle School during the week of August 12. At that time, sixth graders and new students may pick up chromebooks and their combination locks. Students can tour the building and find their team locations and lockers. Parents can handle school fees or chat with office staff.
Book Bags
SMS and Springfield High School are consistent with respect to bookbag policies:
•Large book bags may be used for entering and leaving school. Any book bag is appropriate.
•Drawstring (cinch-sack) bags may be used during the day. They do not have to be mesh/transparent.
•Teams will develop locker stop opportunities and embed them into the school day to reduce the need to carry a lot of materials.
Transportation Flow
The SMS/Holland Intermediate loop will be used for bussing in 2024-25. Carriders will utilize the parking lot to the west of the stadium and drop in front of SMS and pull through the stadium loop back onto Hall Street.
