Office Depot Supports

Last year, Office Depot supported Holland Intermediate in the Round Up for Schools campaign and we received more than $4,500. That is amazing. This year we are a part of their Give Back to Schools program and we earn 5 percent back when purchasing qualifying supplies and providing the school’s name or ID number at the checkout.

Share the Shine

Springfield Prevention Coalition is partnering with Mr. G once again to create the Share the Shine Club. This year we will turn the Kindness Club into the Share the Shine Club. Andrea Smith will be helping to head this joint venture. She is the head of the coalition and is a Holland Intermediate parent. She will be in the lunchroom on Wednesday, August 28, to briefly explain it to students. After that, students will have the option to apply through a Google Form in science and social studies. That will begin September 3 and end on the 6th. Groups will be decided the week of the 9th. More information will be coming soon.

The Holland Way

We will once again be implementing PBIS rewards at Holland Intermediate. PBIS rewards is designed to simplify the effort in recognizing behavior, so the staff can spend more time teaching. Staff members can recognize positive student behavior from anywhere in the school using the mobile app, or from the convenience of their desks using the web portal.

Positives:

•Teachers and staff can acknowledge positive behavior

•Points are automatically tracked

•Check in/Check out

•Online management system •Focus on positives

•Motivates students

•App for parents, staff and students

•SEL components Motivated students are crucial to the success of any incentive program, and knowing this, we created two ways students can stay connected. Students can track their progress by using the Student Portal or the PBIS Rewards Student App. The Student Portal is a simple web interface students can use when they have access to a computer. With the app and web portal, students can see:

•Student point totals

•School store items and privileges they can earn and work towards earning

•List of school events Holland Parent Council HPC is back for the 202425 school year, and they already have many exciting events planned.
