More than 200 area residents turned out for Springfield Township’s inaugural Night on the Township, held last Friday, August 16, at Community Homecoming Park. The end-ofsummer celebration featured entertainment by the gazebo, local food trucks, casino tables, an adults-only beer garden and a live concert by Phil Barone and the Cruisers. The band’s performance included a tribute to Jim Morrison and the Doors. The event was the 20th activity hosted by the township and the final one for the summer.
Trustee Andy Glenn thanked the sponsors for their support. “I would like to single out our presenting and tier one sponsors, the Springfield Holland Chamber of Commerce, and beer garden hosts the Countertop Shop, Elizabeth Scott Community, Sam’s Club, Savage and Associates, Sheetz and the White Family dealerships as well as Walmart, Paramount and Scott Stigall State Farm Insurance.
