Mercy Health’s mobile mammography unit has visits scheduled throughout the region in November.
The mobile mammography unit is customized for patient convenience and will deliver 3D mammograms to women age 40 and older. It is equipped with the newest 3D technology and offers patients the option of self-compression, meaning the patient will have the ability to control the compression once they are in position.
The unit makes access to mammography services easier. It offers safe and easy screenings at convenient locations throughout northwest Ohio. Early diagnosis of breast cancer has proven better outcomes.
The unit is scheduled to be at the following locations:
•Monday, November 18, Jewish Federation of Greater Toledo, 6505 Sylvania Avenue, Sylvania
•Monday, November 25, Mercy Health–Sylvania Medical Center, 3100 King Road, Sylvania
•Tuesday, November 26, Halim Clinic/Spring Valley OBGYN, 6855 Spring Valley Drive, Holland While mammogram screenings may be covered by insurance, for best coverage, participants should verify if Mercy Health–St. Charles Hospital is an in-network provider with their insurance carrier. Those who are uninsured or have high deductibles may qualify for financial need-based assistance programs or a no-cost mammogram. Call 1-800929-6626 for more information.
Screenings at the Mercy Health Mobile Mammography unit are by appointment only. Call 833-MAMM- VAN to schedule a screening on the mobile unit.

Individuals should consult a doctor about when to have a screening mammogram.
Certified radiologists read all mammograms and are double-checked by a computer-aided detection system. Participants and their physicians receive a copy of the results.
