Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper Ann M. Geer has been selected as the 2024 Trooper of the Year at the Swanton Highway Patrol Post.
In recognition of outstanding service for the year, fellow troopers, her supervisors and dispatchers chose Trooper Geer, 53, based on her leadership abilities, professional ethics, courteous treatment of others, enthusiastic work attitude and cooperation with supervisors, peers and the public.
The officer is now in contention for the District and State Trooper of the Year Award to be announced at a later date.
She joined the highway patrol in 2004 and has served at the Toledo, Bowling Green and Swanton posts, and the Findlay District Criminal Patrol.
Originally from Hicksville, Ohio, and a graduate of Hicksville High School, Trooper Geer graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in legal assisting technologies.
Other highway patrol awards received in the past include: safe driving awards, health and physical fitness award, Post Trooper of the Year in 2010 and 2023, Criminal Patrol Awards, and the Findlay District Trooper Recognition Award.
Trooper Geer resides in Wood County with her husband. She has one adult daughter.
