Springfield Township Trustees Andy Glenn, Tom Anderson, Jr. and Rachel Geiger announced details for the township’s “Summer Series 2025” at their meeting on December 17. Events are being planned in response to the popularity of celebrations held this year.
In 2024, the Total Eclipse of the Sun event on April 8, provided the trustees an opportunity to expand a commitment to provide residents and guests with events and activities to highlight the community’s amenities.
“I think we surprised a lot of people with the number and variety of events created around the eclipse,” said Glenn, president of the trustees. “We offered 17 different ways, beginning in January and continuing through the actual eclipse, for residents and guests to become informed, excited and entertained.
“After the eclipse, we saw that our community was anxious for more, so we enhanced our already successful Freedom Celebration, added the popular Wicked Wheels Car Fest and ended the season with A Night on the Township, which included a live outdoor concert and casino games.
“The township was able to do so much because we secured sponsors and volunteers who offered funds and talents. We think we’re on to something special, and plan to keep up the momentum through the 2025 summer months.”
More details will be reported as plans are finalized.
