The Better Business Bureau (BBB) will hold “Shred the Stigma” on Saturday, May 3. This is a community shredding and electronics recycling event.
The BBB will help protect consumers against identity theft while supporting mental health (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
BBB’s annual event promoting identity protection and encouraging safe document disposal will be held in the Westgate parking lot, in Toledo, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
PAPER: Bring old bank statements, tax records, medical files and other paperwork that require secure destruction. Three bags/ boxes at no charge, and $3 for each additional box. Participants can watch their documents disappear in AccuShred’s slow-speed rotary grinder shredding trucks. These trucks will create very small, consistent particle size of the shredding, providing peace of mind, knowing papers have been thoroughly destroyed.
ELECTRONICS: In addition, old computers, small appliances, cell phones, stereo components and old TV’s are accepted.
The event will take place rain or shine. AccuShred staff will be on hand to help unload bags/boxes directly from a vehicle for quick and easy drop-off.
