Americas Boating Club of Western Lake Erie and Toledo Power Squadron will offer a free first mate/captain seminar on Wednesday, June 4, starting at 6:30 p.m.
The seminar will be held at Anchor Pointe Marina, 900 Anchor Point Rd., Curtice.
It will cover the responsibilities and procedures of captains and first mates on sailing vessels, including systems and techniques, emergency procedures and communication. Participants will also learn basic knot tying and line handling.
Free vessel safety checks can be done at the seminar or scheduled for a later date.
