Singletrack Bike Trail Days, Oak Openings Preserve Metropark Offered every second and fourth Saturdays, next volunteer day is May 24, from 9 a.m. to noon.

Participants will assist with repairing the singletrack mountain bike trail. Activities include digging drainage, moving dirt and gravel, trimming brush and potentially constructing a boardwalk or stone path. Meet at the Wheelhouse, 3520 Waterville-Swanton Road, Swanton. Wildwood Garden Mulching, Wildwood Preserve Metropark Scheduled for: Wednesday, May 28, at Metz Stables courtyard; Tuesday, June 3, at Shipman Garden exterior and Thursday, June 5, at Farmhouse/Ward Pavilion. Meet from 8 to 10:30 a.m.

Help the horticulture staff mulch Wildwood’s many gardens. Tools are provided but volunteers should bring their own gloves, wear close-toed shoes and wear long pants. There is potentially poison ivy in or near the mulching areas. For those 12 and older. Must have an adult if under 16.

Dames Rocket Pulling Party, Manhattan Marsh Metropark Offered Wednesday, May 28, from 10 to noon.

Help remove invasive Dames Rocket from Manhattan Marsh. This will require walking off trail in grass/brush. Volunteers must be 8 or older and have an adult if under 16.

Wildwood Weeding Parties, Wildwood Preserve Metropark

Offered from 8 to 10:30 a.m. on: Tuesday, June 10, at Metz Stables; Wednesday, June 18, Manor House/ Shipman Garden and Wednesday, June 25, at Farmhouse/Ward Pavilion.

Trash Pickup, Glass City Upriver (International Park)/Ravine Area Offered every second Wednesday and fourth Sunday, next volunteer days are June 11 and 22, from, 10 a.m. to noon.

Landscape Rock Cleanup, Wildwood Preserve Metropark

Offered on Friday, June 13, from 8 to 11 a.m.

Assist with cleaning the landscape rock beds around the Sycamore Shelter next to the Ward Pavilion at Wildwood. For ages 12 and older. Must be accompanied by an adult if under 16. Sign up in Volgistics or contact Meredith Busic at meredith. busic@metroparkstole do.com.

Mascots Needed

A mascot may appear at special events within the park district, events accompanied by staff away from the park, or maybe community events like parades in the Toledo area. They are a direct representation of Metroparks. If interested contact Emily at Emily.Fos hag@metroparkstoledo.com .

Manor House Docents, Wildwood Preserve Metropark Join the docent team at the Manor House located in the historic Wildwood Preserve, former estate of the Stranahan family. Volunteers are needed to lead 45minute to one-hour tours of the home during open tour hours.

Nature Walk Leaders Metroparks is now recruiting Nature Walk Leaders. With guidance and training from Metroparks staff, these volunteers walk the trails while leading interpretive nature walks for area schools and the general public.
