Nature’s Nursery Center for Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation invites community members to see and be animals at the Animal Masquerade and Moore. This annual event, sponsored by the Moore family, will take place on Thursday October 9, at The Pinnacle, 1772 Indian Wood Circle, Maumee, starting at 5:30 p.m. Guests are encouraged to dress like their favorite animals with costumes or animal print attire.
Masquerade goers will enjoy:
•A Wildlife Meet and Greet: an opportunity to meet some of the Nature’s Nursery Animal Ambassadors and learn about the various species that are native to the area.
•Silent and Live Auction: bid on unique items, with all proceeds going directly to the center’s mission of rescuing and rehabilitating injured or orphaned wildlife.
•Raffles and Games: 50/50’s, wine bottle ring toss and more
•Costume Contest: who wore it better? The animals or the people? A fun contest will take place for all who join the themed fun.
•Delicious Cuisine: catered heavy hors d’oeuvres and cash bar.
All funds raised from the masquerade will go toward supporting Nature’s Nursery’s efforts to care for more than 3,600 sick, injured and orphaned wild animals each year. Over the past 36 years, the nursery has saved over 50,000 wild animals, and with the support of the community plans to continue to serve local wildlife populations well into the future.
“This event is a celebration of our center’s dedication and the incredible support we’ve received from our community over the last 36 years,” said Allison Aey, executive director. “The Animal Masquerade is not only a fun and festive way to raise awareness, but it’s also a reminder of the vital role wildlife plays in our ecosystem.”
This is the 10th year that the Moore Family has hosted this event in honor of their late son, Davey, who was a dedicated Nature’s Nursery volunteer.
Tickets for the event can be purchased online at natures- nursery.org/events. Early reservations are highly encouraged. Sponsorship opportunities also are available for those who wish to contribute on a larger scale.
