Toledo Buddy Walk to return on Sunday, October 5

The Down Syndrome Association of Greater Toledo (DSAGT) will host the annual Toledo Buddy Walk on Sunday, October 5, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Owens Community College, 30335 Oregon Road, Perrysburg, uniting the community in celebration of individuals with Down syndrome and raising awareness for inclusion.

The Buddy Walk, a program of the National Down Syndrome Society, is the nation’s most recognized Down syndrome awareness event. Proceeds from the Toledo Buddy Walk support DSAGT’s local programs, advocacy efforts and family resources across northwest Ohio. “This is one of the most joyful events of the year,” said Krista Jensen, executive director of DSAGT. “The Buddy Walk is about celebrating every person’s unique gifts while also supporting the resources that empower individuals with Down syndrome to thrive.”

The event will feature the ceremonial walk with over 1,200 community members, live entertainment, family activities, food trucks and team celebrations. Registration is open to all, and community members are encouraged to form teams, donate or simply come celebrate inclusion. Register or donate at charity.pledgeit.org/toledobuddywalk.
