Toledo Post of OSHP investigates tractor-trailer crash on US-23

The Toledo Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) is investigating an injury crash involving one commercial vehicle on October 3, at approximately 5:12 p.m., on southbound US-23 at the I-475 interchange, in Sylvania Township.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a Freightliner tractor-trailer combination was traveling southbound on US-23, attempting to negotiate a curve to I-475 eastbound. While negotiating the curve, the Freightliner, operated by Carl Turnier, 39, Kansas City, Missouri, drove off the right side of the roadway, struck the guardrail, overturned, and came to final rest on its side, blocking US-23. Turnier sustained minor injuries and was transported by Sylvania EMS to Toledo Hospital.
