Spooky Boardwalk: Sunshine Communities hosts inclusive trick‐or‐treat on October 19

Families are invited to Sunshine Communities for a free, accessible, all-ages trick-ortreat costume event on Sunday, October 19. Guests are encouraged to come in costume, stroll the boardwalk, meet barnyard animals and collect candy from local businesses, organizations and partners.

Note: Sunshine Communities is still accepting businesses, organizations and groups to serve as candy vendors for the event. In 2024, 1,600 people were in attendance.

The event will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., at 7223 Maumee Western Road, Maumee.

Sunshine’s mission is to create community among people of all abilities. By opening the campus for trick-or-treating, they create a space where children and adults, with and without developmental disabilities, can celebrate side-by-side in an accessible and meaningful way.
