Lucas County Retired Teachers’ Association awards 2025 scholarship

    On October 16, the Lucas County Retired Teachers’Association awarded a $1,000 scholarship to each of the following University of Toledo College of Education students: Rachel Seekins, Mackenzie Kirkendall and Emma Fritsch. Each of these young women met the criteria for their scholarships by being a junior or senior in a Lucas County college or university education program, meeting the financial need standards, providing a transcript and two letters of recommendation and completing the online application, which included four short essays. Congratulations to the 2025 scholarship winners.

    Anyone wishing to help carry on this tradition of honoring future teachers should consider donating to the scholarship fund. Checks should be made payable to LCRTA Scholarship Fund and addressed to LCRTA Treasurer, 2155 Arlington Avenue, Toledo, OH 43609.
