Central Catholic High School’s Drama Club will present the play, “This Murder Was Staged,” on Saturday, November 22, at 7 p.m., and Sunday, November 23, at 1 p.m., at the Historic Ohio Theatre, 3112 LaGrange Street, Toledo. Tickets are $12 each and can be purchased at central catholic.org/tickets.
The theatre is undergoing some renovations, so the facade of the building is under construction. Students will be outside directing patrons where to enter the building. Important parking information can be found at historicohiotheatre. org/visitingthe- ohio-theatre/.
The play, written by Jason Greene and John Pizarello, is a show within a show. It’s opening night of a brand-new mystery play, but just as the killer is about to be revealed, the body of the play’s director falls on stage instead. In that moment, the theater becomes an active crime scene, and everyone from cast to crew, and even the audience, becomes a suspect. But how is the intrepid detective supposed to find the killer when everyone and their mother had a motive to want the demanding director gone?
“The Drama Club students expressed a strong desire to perform a comedy this season,” said Angela Mills, English teacher and drama club moderator. “‘This Murder Was Staged’ is a fast-paced, familyfriendly farce that is going to hone their comedic acting skills and provide an excellent evening of entertainment for the audience. It’s also worth coming to both shows because students will perform two different endings— one on Saturday night and one on Sunday afternoon.”
