The Holland Historical Museum will close out 2025 with a holiday open house tomorrow, December 6. Museum hours for this special event will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Towncrier Michael Lieber will ring the bell announcing the opening at 11 a.m.
Visitors are invited inside to explore museum displays amid sparkling holiday lights with Christmas trees from different time periods featured in each room. The rooms were decorated with help from Springfield Schools students and adult volunteers.
Refreshments will be served and the event is free and open to the public. Freewill donations will be accepted and can be deposited in a gift wrapped holiday box.
One tree is adorned with ornaments made by hundreds of students at Holland Intermediate School. Those that couldn’t fit on the tree are in several display cases.
Families are encouraged to visit and see their child’s decoration on display.
Prizes will be awarded at 1 p.m., to the top three students from each grade level, explained Director Jane Maiolo.
She expressed appreciation to Matt Paskiet of Fire Nation for donating the first place prizes; Stacy Owen of Copper Moon for second place, and Mc-Clure Insurance Group/Acrisure, for third place.
The tree in the military room, along with refreshments, were donated by Scott Stigall of State Farm, Holland.
The board and I thank Mr. Stigall for his generous support,” said Maiolo.
The museum will be open for the final time this year on Thursday, December 11, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
“We will be closed for the remainder of the year and on New Year’s Day, January 1,” the director said.
The museum is located at 7154 Front Street, Holland, across from Fire Nation.
