This winter break, escape to the glow of glass with the return of the seasonal favorite Great Art Escape at the Toledo Museum of Art (TMA). New this year, visitors can enjoy two festive days of holiday cheer in the snow globe styled Glass Pavilion on TMA’s campus. Whether they’re creating memories with family, enjoying a holiday outing with friends, or simply escaping the winter chill, the new Glass Art Escape offers a magical mix of art, storytelling, and seasonal fun for all.
Visitors will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in a Glass Pavilion winter wonderland through a series of seasonal familyfriendly activities. Visitors of all ages will be able to enjoy glassblowing, live music, and tours of TMA’s latest special exhibition Radiance and Reverie: Jewels from the Collection of Neil Lane.
The full list of activities for TMA’s 2025 Glass Art Escape is as follows:
•Glassblowing Fairy Tales brought to life in the Hot Shop
•Winter Story Time with the Lucas County Library
•“Frozen 2” and “Happy Feet” movie screening
•Family-friendly art activities to spark creativity
•Live music to warm the winter air
•A festive hot drink bar and cookie take-home kits
•Ask Me Docents (requires an exhibition ticket to Radiance and Reverie: Jewels from the Collection of Neil Lane— free for members, $10 for non-members) Grace Toth, TMA’s Emma Leah Bippus Director of Education, said that the location change hasn’t changed the heart of the event—the Art Escape still offers fun, family-friendly activities, new and familiar, for any visitors looking to round out their holiday season with some winter fun.
“Now that we’re reimagining our galleries, we also have to reimagine how we’re doing some programming, including moving this event to the Glass Pavilion,” Toth said. “A lot of families come into the museum looking for something to do during the holiday season before heading back to school, and this event is still the perfect solution for that. This provides an opportunity for visitors to shake off the winter blues, get out of their houses and engage with their community through this winter wonderland we’re creating.”

Admission and parking to TMA are free.
