A Springfield High School senior attending Penta Career Center was among eight career center students recognized for achievements on an advanced career assessment. At the May 10 meeting, the Penta board of education acknowledged Mason Young for scoring at the proficient/advanced levels on the Southern Regional Education Board’s advanced career end-of-course assessment.

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission is providing access to lifesaving naloxone nasal spray at all 14 service plazas across the 241mile toll road. Naloxone, also known by its brand name Narcan, is a medication that can reverse an overdose caused by opioid drugs, such as heroin, illicit fentanyl and prescription pain medications.

On May 12, the Springfield chapters of Chick-fil-A Leader Academy (CFA) and Business Professionals of America (BPA) hosted a carnival in the field house lobby of the high school for district students identified with special learning needs.
