Penta senior recognized for high score on assessments

A Springfield High School senior attending Penta Career Center was among eight career center students recognized for achievements on an advanced career assessment. At the May 10 meeting, the Penta board of education acknowledged Mason Young for scoring at the proficient/advanced levels on the Southern Regional Education Board’s advanced career end-of-course assessment.

Ohio Turnpike to provide naloxone at service plazas

The Ohio Turnpike and Infrastructure Commission is providing access to lifesaving naloxone nasal spray at all 14 service plazas across the 241mile toll road. Naloxone, also known by its brand name Narcan, is a medication that can reverse an overdose caused by opioid drugs, such as heroin, illicit fentanyl and prescription pain medications.

Dumpster Days service to be offered in 2023

Springfield Township residents are invited to use a free dumpster service three times during 2023. Located behind the township building, 7617 Angola Road, Dumpsters Days will be offered from 8 a.m.

Leader academy, BPA host carnival

On May 12, the Springfield chapters of Chick-fil-A Leader Academy (CFA) and Business Professionals of America (BPA) hosted a carnival in the field house lobby of the high school for district students identified with special learning needs. The students, along with teachers and aides from the district's three elementary schools, Holland Intermediate, the middle and high schools were in attendance.

Garden Road closure continues

The Lucas County Commissioners awarded a contract to CATTS Construction of Bedford, Ohio, for a bridge rehabilitation project on Garden Road between Perrysburg Holland Road and Holland Sylvania Road in Springfield Township.

Polish summer picnic to be held, June 16
