The mobile mammography unit is customized for patient convenience and will deliver 3D mammograms to women age 40 and older.

On April 18, the Lucas County Commissioners endorsed a resolution in support of the Lucas County Active Transportation Plan, which outlines strategies for making the county’s streets safe for individuals who walk, bike, or use other human-powered transportation modes to get around.

The Holland Pickleball Club will hold its annual member tournament in June. This year’s tournament will take place at the Strawberry Acres pickleball courts on June 3 and 4.

On April 25, Steve Mueller, an employee of Springfield Local Schools’ maintenance department, visited Dorr Elementary to look at the cafeteria’s dish tank. Much to his surprise, he was met with a sign written on a white board which read “Today is hug a plumber day.” “I was surrounded by hugging students,” he said, adding, “This hug made it all worthwhile.” .

The 577 Foundation annual plant sale is Saturday, May 6, through Sunday, May 14, or while supplies last. The horticulture team is growing a variety of organic heirloom tomatoes, peppers, brassicas, greens, herbs and flowers loved by pollinators.

The Ballet Theatre of Toledo (BTT) will welcome prospective students to an open house at their Holland facility, 1124 Corporate Drive, on Monday, May 8, from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., and Wednesday, May 10, from 5 to 7 p.m.

Springfield Local Schools’ innovative Summer Spark literacy initiative provides students entering kindergarten through fifth grades with engaging and fun learning experiences– something that can challenge and entertain each student. There is no cost to families for students to attend; however, students must register and be accompanied at each session.
