Springfield Portrait of a Graduate –Leadership Each month, Crissey Elementary recognizes students who have exemplified one of the Springfield portrait of a graduate traits. The character trait that students focused on for the month of March was leadership.

As Toledo gets set to host close to 2,500 runners for the Mercy Health Glass City Marathon, the Toledo Area Regional Transportation Authority (TARTA) is ready to help get them to the starting line. TARTA has scheduled direct transportation between area hotels and the starting line near the University of Toledo for the marathon on Sunday, April 23.

Pickleball enthusiasts in Perrysburg now have a second location in town in which to enjoy the popular sport. On a beautiful, unseasonably warm and sunny April 14, the Perrysburg Rotary Club dedicated eight new courts at Rotary Community Park, 26350 Fort Meigs Road, in the names of two former publishers and a current publisher of the Perrysburg Messenger, Rossford Record, Holland-Springfield and Point and Shoreland journals.

The American Academy of Dermatology SPOT Skin Cancer and Mercy Health Dermatology and Oncology have partnered to host a skin cancer screening event at St. Anne Hospital, 3404 West Sylvania Avenue, Toledo, on Saturday, May 6, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Appointments are required and spaces are limited for this free event.

Check out the new Buddy Bench. Thank you to Dorr Parents’ Club for this wonderful addition to our playground. They also have provided new basketball nets, as well as new archery materials and helmets for physical education class. We are thankful for our PTO helping us grow so many programs at Dorr Elementary.
