Village council approves variance, adjusts zoning

Holland village council approved a request for a variance, but not before adjusting the zone to reflect plans for the property’s usage. At the March 7 meeting, Leslie Ferman, zoning administrator, said that property owner Duane Dodson plans to add on to the existing structure at 7103 Railroad Street, converting it to multifamily.

County commissioners call for highway system leading to state capital

The Lucas County commissioners are joining a number of area jurisdictions in northwest Ohio that are calling for an improved highway system leading to Franklin County and the state capital. At the February 28 meeting, the commissioners passed a resolution urging Governor Mike DeWine and the Ohio Department of Transportation to review and reconsider a decision to end the U.S.

Lucas SWCD tree sale is underway

The Lucas Soil and Water Conservation District (Lucas SWCD) is accepting orders for the annual tree, shrub, and garden sale now through Friday, March 31. Orders may be placed online through the website at lswcd-tree.square.site, credit card only, or stop by the office located at 3350 Hill Avenue, Suite K, Toledo, during business hours to fill out an order form and make the payment by cash, check or credit card.
