Springfield Township residents are invited to use a free dumpster service three times during 2024. Located behind the township building, 7617 Angola Road, Dumpsters Days will be offered from 8 a.m.

Dietary guidelines established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services promote nutrientdense foods and beverages, but many people prefer to know how many calories they should consume each day.

Hospice of Northwest Ohio is in need of volunteers who are a licensed hairdresser or barber. Hair care volunteers provide basic haircuts only for patients living in their homes or at nursing homes throughout Wood, Lucas, Fulton, Henry, Ottawa and Monroe counties.

The Ohio Highway Patrol is reporting six fatal crashes resulting in seven deaths on Ohio’s roadways during the 2023-2024 New Year’s holiday according to provisional statistics. This is a decrease from the four-day reporting period last year when 13 fatalities were reported.

United Way of Greater Toledo (UWGT) announces the re-opening of its community grant application. This is the second three-year grant cycle offered by the organization through its collective impact model of funding. UWGT is committed to providing essential funding to local programs addressing critical issues in education, financial stability, health and housing.

Open auditions for the Ballet Theatre of Toledo’s “Great Pancake Escape” will be held from 1 to 2:15 p.m., Saturday, January 13 at the Holland studios, 1124 Corporate Drive. Auditions are open to ballet dancers in first grade though college.

The Photo Arts Club of Toledo is hosting its 35th annual photo contest at Secor Metropark. The exhibit will be open Saturday and Sundays, from noon to 4 p.m., March 23 through May 4, excluding Palm Sunday and Easter weekend. There will be no opening reception this year.
