March 16 Shoplifting, 1300 block South McCord Road; traffic stop citations, McCord Road at Airport Highway, Holloway Road at Spring Meadows West, South McCord at Kipling roads, McCord roundabout, McCord Road at Spectrum Drive.

Safety Town registration under way

Registration is under way for the Safety Town summer children’s program, sponsored by the Springfield Township Fire Department and Holland Police Department. The program is designed only for children entering kindergarten in the fall.

Side Cut Friends host nature photo program

Friends of Side Cut Metropark will present Nature Photography; Basics, Hints and Tips at 6:30 p.m., Thursday, April 11 at Side Cut Metropark Lamb Center, 1025 West River Road, Maumee. The program will be presented by Mary and Carroll Cannon, chairs for the Topics Camera Club.

Jazz concert series continues in Jazz Alley

Jazz Alley, a first-floor corridor in the Glass City Center, will continue its series of free jazz concerts on Sundays, April 7 and May 12, from 3 to 5 p.m. Guests are invited to celebrate Jazz Appreciation Month with the Cakewalkin’ Jass Band on April 7 and Mother’s Day with Sixth Edition on May 12.

Metroparks volunteer orientation is April 29

Those new to volunteering with Metroparks Toledo or who want to know more about various programs and opportunities can attend a volunteer orientation Monday, April 29, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Glass City Metropark, Glass City Pavilion.

Responsible gun ownership topic of April 15 LWV meeting

The League of Women Voters of Lucas County will discuss responsible gun ownership at the organization’s Monday, April 15 meeting. Held at the Sylvania branch of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, 6749 Monroe Street, Sylvania, the meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

Metroparks accepting bucket donations

Metroparks Toledo programming and volunteer services are looking for bucket and cat litter bin donations. Programming uses them for trash, compost and recycling during summer camps.
