SHS student participates in ‘Think Fast’ competition

On April 1, Safe Communities of Wood County hosted Think Fast, an interactive presentation designed to help young drivers understand the importance of safe driving. About 400 students attended the presentations which took place at Penta Career Center in Perrysburg Township.

MultiFaith council to host annual banquet on April 14

Trustees terminate paramedics who declared overdose victim dead

The Springfield Township board of trustees terminated two paramedics who, in January, wrongfully declared an overdose victim as deceased. Following an executive session at the April 2 meeting, the trustees voted unanimously to terminate William Fordyce and Aiden Yoon for incorrectly declaring a woman dead after they were unable to detect a pulse.

Springfield BOE seeks true valuations of six parcels

The Springfield School District board of education is asking the Lucas County Board of Revision to reconsider valuations on six parcels. At the March 21 meeting, the school board authorized treasurer Ryan Lockwood to file a complaint with the board of revision asking that the true value of the properties be increased to reflect the sale prices.
