Steam Threshers to host antique display July 23

The days of yesteryear will be on display Sunday, July 23, at the Five Point Steam Threshers 61st annual reunion. The event, free and open to the public, will feature wheat threshing and plowing demonstrations, along with a variety of antique tractors, gas and steam engines.

YWCA and Owens to provide CDA to Associates program

The Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA) of Northwest Ohio and Owens Community College will partner to provide in-person courses for individuals seeking to earn a child development associate (CDA) certification and a full associate’s degree.

Former tennis stars to headline charity event

The James Patrick O’Connell (JPO) Foundation’s second annual It’s All About Love tennis charity event will be held on Saturday, July 22, at Twos Athletic Club, 2222 Cass Road, Toledo. Internationally known tennis champions Luke and Murphy Jensen will be in Toledo to help support the JPO Foundation.

Friends of Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge are hosting the West Sister Island sunset cruise on Friday, August 11. West Sister Island National Wildlife Refuge is a rookery, where local wading birds like herons and egrets go to nest.

Sylvania Community Orchestra to hold Summer Pops concert

The Sylvania Community Orchestra is holding their fourth annual Summer Pops concert as part of their Summer Serenades Concert Series. The concert will be held on the west side of Olander Park at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23. The event is free, but donations are welcome, and will support the Sylvania Community Orchestra’s work and events like the concert.
