A Lot of Celebrating
We’re here to tell you there are a lot of great things happening this school year. In previous columns, there has been an appropriate focus on academics, for sure. However, we ask that you indulge us a little because, well, we’ve got some pretty spectacular news to share this week from our athletics department.
The Springfield Middle School boys basketball team wrapped-up a dream season. After a record of 7-0 in the Northern Lakes League (NLL) play, and a record of 6-0 against some quality non-league opponents, the team swept through the NLL junior high tournament and capped-off their undefeated season by beating Perrysburg 55-51.
In a back and forth game, the boys secured the victory in the final minute of play, and it was the third time beating the number two seed Perrysburg during the season.
The following boys are members of the team: Mason Amick, Ethan James, DeAndre Jamison, Chase Kozak, Cayden Kynard, Isaiah Mack, Brady Ruckman, Kai Taylor, Tristan Thacker, Greyson Wagner and Cale Whitmire.
