Kendall Carruthers
Springfield High School senior basketball player Kendall Carruthers has led the Blue Devils through the first round of Northern Lakes League (NLL) play, going 7-0 in the league and 12-3 overall.
She is averaging 16.1 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.0 steals per game.
“She is not only electrifying on the court, she is a great role model for the younger players. After playing a youth game at halftime at one of the boys’ basketball games, a future little Blue Devil girl came and found Kendall. She sat next to Kendall the remainder of the game and was amazed by Kendall as a player and person. Kendall invited her to the girls’ next home game. As a coach it was amazing to witness this leadership by Kendall, I was so proud of her for doing this. She also stays after practice when she can to train some of our freshman players and teach them some of her electrifying moves. Our reigning NLL player of the year is quiet on the court, but her genuine heart and play speaks loudly to those who know her,” said girls basketball coach Clifton Hodges.
